Schools Need Trees

This project was created during Laura’s time as a Climate Justice Design Fellow through Harvard University’s Institute of Quantitative Social Science. Through her work with the Neighborhood Design Center Laura has collaborated with numerous teachers, students, and parents to plant native trees, shrubs, and perennials on school campuses throughout Prince George’s County. It is through this experience that Laura has seen the passion in the PGCPS community for more green spaces at their schools and the lack of resources to do so. This project is a work in progress and Laura hopes to continue expanding the features here to help increase tree canopy throughout the region. Do you need help with tree planting at your school? Laura can be reached at schoolsneedtrees @ gmail.com.
